Wheaton Franciscan’s Video Featuring Bike MS Last year, Wheaton Franciscan fielded the largest rookie bike team at the Best Dam Bike Ride. They made this video, which features MS patients and top ride participants Wendy Machi and Chuck Scherwinski.
MS Research Makes Strides in 2013 Multiple sclerosis researchers made great strides in 2013 toward stopping MS in its tracks, restoring lost function and ending MS forever. A few of those headlines include:
- Researchers found a possible “biomarker” or indicator that may help predict MS disease progression
- New studies reported that eating fatty fish has the potential to reduce the risk of developing MS, and that smoking increases the risk of developing MS, as does obesity in girls
- Studies from three labs provided basic clues to nervous system damage and factors controlling repair of the brain’s insulating myelin, which if confirmed could eventually be translated to promising new therapeutic approaches
