New ‘I Ride With MS’ Program
The 31st Annual Bike MS: TOYOTA Best Dam Bike Ride introduces a new “I Ride with MS” program. This program is a way of honoring participating cyclists who identify that they have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a disease of the central nervous system that is believed to have a higher prevalence rate in Wisconsin. As of June 5, 56 riders have signed up for the program. Meet two of these inspirational riders below:

Amy Rowell is a 38-year-old wife, mother, and Director of Development at a private school in Milwaukee. She completed her first Bike MS: Best Dam Bike Ride in 2009 because she was tired of people telling her what she could and could not do because of her MS diagnosis. Rowell explains, “Biking gave me my freedom, my confidence, and my future back ... and I hadn't even realized it was missing!” She looks forward to being a part of the “I Ride with MS” program so that she can inspire others as well as thank all who are riding.

WIG 2014 Bike MS Drew GovekDrew Govek
(pictured far left)
Drew Govek will ride somewhere between 400 and 500 miles in preparation for this year’s Bike MS: TOYOTA Best Dam Bike Ride, his 15th year with the event. He rides to help find a cure for his brother and others who can no longer join bike rides. This is the first year that Govek may join a few of his team members in doing the Century Loop. “I like being out in the sun with some friends riding down quiet country roads and working off some of the pounds that accumulated over the winter.”
